Certificate Programs

This section contains programs designed to increase skills and knowledge in a structured curriculum that leads to certification in that program area.  Two certificate programs are offered by the Leadership Institute:

  • A certificate program is offered in Church Business Administration in conjunction with The Church Network.

 

  • The Leadership Institute, with the support of the Educator Certification Committee, is also pleased to offer innovative hybrid courses for Presbyterian Church (USA) Christian Educator Certification.

 


Church Business Administration Certification in Richmond

July 23-July 26, 2019 – Core Curriculum (Strategic) on the Richmond campus

July 29-August 1, 2019 – Core Curriculum (Fiduciary) on the Richmond campus

Cost:  $700 for all core curriculum seminars for both weeks, $375 for one week of core curriculum seminars; $100 per day for individual seminars (a two-day seminar is $200); ~ pricing includes lunch on each day of the seminar.

Church Business Administration Certification in Charlotte

March – May, 2019 – includes one day for the four CEU classes required for certification, on the Charlotte campus

For Church Business Administration in Charlotte, core curriculum seminars are offered on Thursdays.  In addition, we will offer one additional day in the spring for the required CEU classes needed for certification.

Cost:  $335 for remaining full spring semester of core seminars; $100 per day for individual seminars (a two-day seminar is $200); CEU classes on March 28 are $25 each/$100 for the day. ~ pricing includes lunch on each day of the seminar.

Christian Educator Certification Hybrid Courses

Courses designed to meet the requirements for Christian Educator Certification in the Presbyterian Church (USA) ~ these are hybrid courses; most of the work will be done at home, then there will be three days on campus in Richmond or Charlotte, depending on the course ~ cost per course is $295. You do not need to be seeking certification to take the course. Pastors, educators, church leaders, and Christian education committee members are encouraged to consider this course.

  • September 4 – October 3, 2018 (on-campus October 1-3):  Religious Education Theory and Practice (Richmond).  Led by Dr. Cindy Kissel-Ito. (Registration for this course has closed).
  • January 21 – February 18, 2019 (on-campus February 19-21):  Aspects of Human Growth and Faith Development (Richmond). Led by Dr. Rebecca Davis. (Registration for this course has closed).
  • April 22 – May 16, 2019 (on-campus May 14-16):  Reformed Theology (Richmond).  Led by Dr. Dawn DeVries.  Registration for this course is open, click here to register!
